Hello DCC Supporter,
Fall is fast underway, and we find ourselves at Design Connect Create in a fresh season of gratitude.
On North Texas Giving Day, we celebrated our fantastic summer with a small gathering at the home of our President, Wanda Gass. We heard compelling stories from past camp participants Shams Alsafi and Katie Russell plus DCC Master Instructors Linda Antinone and Daniel Brown. After several moments of drying our eyes, we left more inspired and motivated to continue investing in a diverse STEM workforce.
We are incredibly grateful to the 30 North Texas Giving Day donors who invested in our work and mission. We raised enough funds to support a 2019 summer camp that will serve 45 high school girls = $28,288! Learn more about our 2019 camps here.
Did you think voting was over this month? Not yet! We are developing a product line of items that put diverse STEM role models into the hands of children and youth, increasing their awareness and interest in pursuing high-demand, high-wage jobs that help shape our world. Cast a ballot ranking five different options for what will be our first inspiring product.
And finally, we have completely redesigned our website to better serve you. Check it out and let us know what you think.
For equity in STEM,
